Larry Richert

Larry Richert, President of SFM Group has over 30 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Quality, Safety, Leadership Training & Coaching, Lean, Six Sigma, and Environmental Systems. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a foreign language degree from Michigan Technological University.

Since 1988, Larry has served organizations in the roles of consultant, president, plant & operations manager, continuous improvement manager, and engineer. His roots in continuous improvement began at a medical device manufacturer in the late 1980’s where he was introduced to Gemba Kanri (Shop Floor Management) and Hoshin Planning. Eventually, he launched out to assist organizations in their continuous improvement and quality journeys; helping them improve communication, the rate of productivity, and profitability. He has served a variety of manufacturing industries as well as transactional, and banking engagements.

Larry is a certified Lead Assessor and has led over 25 organizations to ISO9001, ISO/IATF16949, VDA6.2, AS9001, D1 9000, ISO14001, and cGMP Quality System registration.
